Although their currency unit is the Lat (LVL), Krause states that 100 Santimu = 1 Lats, having added an "S". Also on the coins themselves, the denomination is shown on the 10, 20, and 100 units as "Latu", whereas on the 5 unit coin it is shown as "Lati". There appears to be some confusion about both the singular and plural forms of the name of the currency. | 10 Latu 1999 | 18.5 | 3.11 | 0.0583 | 1.81333 | 0.583 | LATVIA | Guernsey Gold Coins In the short time for which Guernsey had been issuing gold coins, it has made a wide variety of denominations. First in 1981 was a pound coin, similar in dimensions to a British sovereign. The ¡ê2 coin of 1997 is the gold version of the two pound issued in cupro-nickel and also in a silver proof version, and is therefore a large heavy coin, much larger than the higher value denominations which we will now describe. A five pound was issued in 1995 with a weight of 7.81 grams, and a twenty five pounds was issued in 1994 with the same weight. Ten pounds, fifty pounds and hundred pounds were also in 1994 using a weight standard proportional to the ¡ê25 coin. Other high denomination gold coins have also been issued since 1994 with using this same weight standard. All these gold coin issues have been proofs. | Five Pounds 1999 | 38.61 | 47.54 | 1.4012 | 43.58219 | 0.9166 | UNITED KINGDOM | Zambian Gold Coins Zambia only issued its own coins for the first time in 1964 for its independence, Its gold coins are commemorative pieces.
