| Ellendale diamond mine
The Ellendale Mine is a open pit diamond mine located some 2,000 km north of Perth in Western Australia. It is one of the world's best sources of highly prized fancy yellow diamonds. Mining is currently estimated to continue until 2014.

Products: The mine produced over 766,000 carats during its first five years of operations. Production reached 378,000 carats following the expansion of diamond production facilities at Ellendale Pipe 9.
Owner: The mine is owned by Gem Diamonds Ltd's wholly-owned subsidiary, the Kimberley Diamond Company.

| Argyle diamond mine
The Argyle Diamond Mine is one of the world's largest producers of diamonds and the world¡¯s largest producer of natural coloured diamonds. It is located in the East Kimberley region in the remote north of Western Australia.
Reserves/Resources: Initial proven reserves of the Argyle mine were 61 million tonnes of ore, with an average ore grade of 6.8 carats (1.36 g) per or tonne, about 400 million carats (80,000 kg). Further estimated reserves of 14 million tonnes of ore, at a grade of 6.1 carats (1.22 g) per tonne (85 million carats, 17,000 kg), also existed. As of 2001, reserves and resources in the open-pit mined area contain 220 million tonnes of 2.5 to 3.0 carat (500 to 600 mg) per tonne graded ore, sufficient to sustain current production rates until 2007.
Products: The Argyle diamond mine leads the world in volume production of diamond, averaging annual production of 35 million carats (7,000 kg), or about one third of global production of natural diamonds. Production peaked in 1994, when 42 million carats (8,400 kg) were produced. Of this quantity only 5% is considered gem-quality, with the rest being either near-gem quality or industrial grade; this is somewhat below world averages of about 20% of mined diamonds qualifying as gem-grade.

| Merlin diamond mine
The Merlin diamond mine is located in the Northern Territory of Australia, about 80 kilometres south of Borroloola. It is one of only three diamond mines in Australia.The mine has an unusually high proportion of gem-quality diamonds: 65% of production is gem-quality, and only 35% is classified as near-gem or industrial quality.It is Australia's second mine, closed in mid-2003 after a four year life in which it produced 500,000 ct of high quality diamonds.
Reserves/Resources: The known ore grade at Merlin is about 0.2 carats (40 mg) per tonne.The mine closed in mid-2003 after a four year life in which it produced 500,000 ct of high quality diamonds. The mine and surrounding aeas have been sold to Striker Resources. The mine had an initial start up production of 200 000ct which was realised in 2000, with a capacity to increase to 300 000 ct per year.
Products: Produced about 500,000 carats (100 kg) of high quality diamonds from 2000 to mid-2003.
