Koffiefontein mine

Koffiefontein is the largest kimberlite diamond mine in the world by average value per carat. Discovered in 1870, the underground mine is situated 110km south-east of Kimberley in the Free State province of South Africa.
Reserves/Resources: The mine holds 17.66mt of proven and 18.48mt of probable reserves."
Products: The mine produces high-value diamonds, including white diamonds sized between five to 30 carats. In 2009, the mine produced 52,089 carats graded at 6.6cpht, a reduction from the 89,622 carats production achieved in 2008. Delays in producing from new sections on level 49 and 52 resulted in the decline. Production at the mine was 948,000t a year.

Venetia is a open-pit diamond mining.It was the first diamond mine to achieve ISO 9002 quality management certification.It is South Africa's largest producer of diamonds. It is situated close to the South African town of Alldays in the Limpopo province and is located within the 360 km2 Venetia Limpopo Nature Reserve.

The Williamson diamond mine is a famous large open pit mine currently about 90 meters (300 ft) deep.It is the world¡¯s largest economic kimberlite by surface area at 146 hectares in size. It is a historic source of high value Type II diamonds and fancy pinks.It is located about 160 kilometers (99 mi) south of the town of Mwanza on the shores of Lake Victoria in Tanzania.
Reserves/Resources: A major diamond resource of approximately 39 Mcts.
Products: Today production levels for all Williamson mine diamond recovery activities is about 300,000 carats (60 kg) per year.
Owner: Owned by Petra Diamonds (75% ownership), with the government of Tanzania owning the remaining 25%.
