What is Low Carb & Low Sugar Foods?
Carbohydrates (carbs) serve as the primary energy source for most forms of life. In a standard American diet, 55 percent of daily calories consumed come from carbohydrates.The USDA recommends 300 grams of carbs per day. Low- carb diets vary but rarely recommend you eat more than 100 grams per day.Moderately reduced carbohydrate diet could help weight loss.  And  people with diabetes are turning to low sugar and low carb foods to help them control their condition.
We define "low-carb" as 9 grams of carbohydrates per 100 grams of food. A food must have less than 5g of sugar (natural or added) per 100g or 2.5g of sugar per 100mls to be a low sugar food, and sugar-free means less than 0.5g of sugar per 100g or per 100ml. .
