Estimat your %BAC (blood alcohol Content)

Blood alcohol content (BAC), also called blood alcohol concentration, blood ethanol concentration, or blood alcohol level. BAC is the amount of alcohol in an individual's body, measured by the weight of the alcohol in a volume of blood. although it is often measured in the breath where the

alcohol level in the water vapor of the breath follows the alcohol level in the blood. The basic formula for estimating a person's blood alcohol concentration derives from the work done by Widmark in the early 1930s. The basis for the calculations are the established physiological facts that alcohol distributes itself in the total water of the body.Advancements in this technical area have lead to refinements in Widmark's basic calculation formula.

The formula calculates blood alcohol content based on a person's gender, weight, drinks consumed and the time since the first drink was consumed.

This formula tries to be as accurate as possible, but many other factors (for example: your body type, age, if you’ve taken any medication, how much food you’ve had to eat, etc.) can influence your BAC. The accurate BAC can be taken with a blood test or with a breathalyzer.

The estimate of BAC should not be used by individuals to decide whether or not to drive after drinking .However, it does provide the best available approximation of the number of drinks it takes for individuals to reach specific BACs.
