Schedule Chart for Prenatal Visits
Week 3-6
Around the time of the delayed menstruation, a urine or blood test can be performed to determine pregnancy.Pregnancy tests are designed to tell if your urine or blood contains a hormone called human chorionic gonadotropin (hCG).

Week 7-8
An ultrasound is done in early pregnancy is to determine the location of the pregnancy sac, size and vitality (heartbeat) of the fetus.The main reason that an ultrasound is done in early pregnancy is to detect an intrauterine pregnancy and rule out an ectopic pregnancy.Women who receive fertility treatments and in vitro fertilization should be carefully screened for heterotopic pregnancy.

Week 10
Your doctor will give you a follow-up card to track your pregnancy. Routine Tests: Blood count, fasting glucose, urine culture, blood type (and RH antibodies level if negative), rubella antibodies, Venereal Disease Research Laboratory (VDRL), Cyto-Megalo-Virus (CMV) antibodies, toxoplasma, Hepatitis B surface AntiGen (HBsAG), and if necessary Human Immuno deficiency Virus(HIV) testing. Some physicians add a general urine culture and TSH test or other subrule of thyroid activity.

Week 10-14
A nuchal translucency ultrasound (commonly called a ˇ°nuchal scanˇ± or ˇ°NT scanˇ±) is an ultrasound performed around week 12 gestation. It is usually part of an assessment called combined first trimester screening.

Week 11-12
Early chromosomal genetic diagnostic testing may also be performed around these weeks,a sample is taken from the placenta tissue and analyzed for genetic conditions.

Week 15-16
early ultrasound screening exam .

Week 17
Triple screen test, fetoprotein or amniocentesis and blood count.A triple screen is a blood test that measures three things called alpha-fetoprotein, human chorionic gonadotropin and unconjugated estriol. Triple screens are most accurate if done between the 16th and the 18th weeks of your pregnancy.

Week 22-25
During this time, you will have another ultrasound scan to determine whether there is a late anomaly in the development of your baby.

Week 24-28
Glucose screen to check for gestational diabetes. At this stage, you will have a glucose challenge or a glucose tolerance test. A visit to the physician to discuss glucose test results and talk about receiving RH immune globulin if RH negative during week 28.
